I took a day trip on Saturday to Peterhof, which is the Summer Palace of Peter the Great on the Gulf of Finland. I'm gearing up for another week of class after doing some intensive studying this weekend. I'll be blogging about some more substantive issues this week, but I should sleep a bit.

Michael - I hope these posting times aren't local! Glad to hear you are settled and safe. I am particularly enjoying the food (and food shopping) descriptions. Do you know the blog - http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/ - he takes snaps of local people (NYC, Rome, Paris, etc) that he thinks have a lot of personal style. I wonder what he would see in St. Petersburg – do they dress like Euros or Americans or neither? Margot
i'm going to write about the subject of fashion or lack thereof here soon. most people dress like europeans but a lot of eurotrash and gothic too. the mullet is in style. that's an interesting blog.
